About Us

Natural Family Functional Health is dedicated to personalized, root-focused wellness care. Our approach integrates advanced functional testing, clinical nutrition, and systems-based thinking to help clients better understand patterns contributing to chronic symptoms and restore balance over time.

The practice is led by Dr. Macie Biermann DC, whose work is grounded in extensive postgraduate training in functional medicine, clinical nutrition, blood chemistry analysis, and complex chronic health patterns. Our care model emphasizes education, individualized assessment, and collaboration—supporting clients as they take an active role in their health.

Our Focus

We commonly work with individuals navigating complex, often overlooked health challenges, including:

  • Digestive and gut-immune dysfunction

  • Hormone and metabolic imbalance

  • Inflammation and immune dysregulation

  • Environmental and biotoxin exposure patterns

Our team prioritizes understanding how different systems interact, rather than addressing symptoms in isolation.

Our Philosophy

Natural Family Functional Health was built on the belief that lasting health comes from understanding the body’s underlying mechanisms—not simply reacting to symptoms. Many individuals seek our care after years of being told their labs are “normal” despite persistent concerns.

Our philosophy emphasizes:

  • Education over quick fixes

  • Pattern recognition over isolated numbers

  • Supporting the body’s innate capacity for healing

  • Working collaboratively and thoughtfully, at an appropriate pace

This perspective is shaped not only by clinical training, but by firsthand experience navigating the gaps that can exist between conventional care and complex, chronic symptoms. That insight continues to inform our commitment to transparency, compassion, and individualized support.

Training & Clinical Foundation

Dr. Biermann earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from The University of Alabama and graduated Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic. She is currently completing a 300-hour Diplomate program through the American Board of Chiropractic Internists (DABCI), further expanding the practice’s clinical depth in functional diagnostics and evidence-based natural care.
